A first blog

I actually used the name 'blog' in my thesis in 1980 when I qualified as a maths teacher. I have always been suspicious of measuring circles in square centimetres, so I thought of measuring them in touching circles of diameter 1. This would be useful for plumbers.

I did not get far on the maths as the time came to move on and I have been moving too fast to do the maths ever since.

One day.

I am happy to share the word for such a fun purpose.

The other word I invented was 'compumag' for a computer magazine on tape - or I suppose, disk. Not a pretty word.
